Getting the hang of it

I've searched this FORUM and have not located the solution for activating IVS via a SMART PLAN on my NVR.

I've created IVS trips lines for each camera through the camera interface and the only active camera is the Dahua Starlight PTZ SD59225U-HNI and on the actual NVR screen, I can see the trip line and intrusion boxes but the remaining 15 cameras, nothing.

I'm running the following equipment:

Dahua DH-NVR5216-4KS2, 8TB Purple HA

11 Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

Upgrade firmware on NVR?

Same problem here, and nobody responds. Aggravating that only one older firmware camera (channel 2) seems to work. All others even new 5442 -Z4 doesn't.

Was using the config tool with it's crappy various dates of plug ins to make changes directly to cameras. Biggest issue is I want to enable the alarm out (NO) or NVR buzzer for each camera, and the two menu blocks don't show up on the camera config tool. Shows up on the NVR but you get that crazy message (per 1st pic). I'll look at he web interface using the 108 address.

Dont use the config tool for a "P" NVR with built in switch. Read the PSA link

From there you can access the web GUI for each camera.

I just pulled the NVR up using the Web interface on internet explorer 192.168.1.108:8080. Yep, the alarm out, buzzer, etc shows up on that one for each camera. Just forgot on the laptop that I was wireless..doesn't react fast. Will hook directly tommorow w cable. Only thing the alarm out doesn't show 1 and 2, but it's a start.. Thanks a bunch..was getting frustrated..had bought the alarm block connector, small buzzer, and 12VDC small adapter for alarm block..then couldn't find alarm out on the interface.. Thanks again.

Tried that with laptop hooked to router, and NVR thru a Netgear powerline adapter. Same thing with IVS..doesn't want to accept changes. Neither on an older camera 4233C-A or newer 5442-Z4

  1. Clear all IVS rules on the NVR.
  2. Reboot
  3. Verify they are empty on NVR
  4. Make IVS settings on the cameras. Save, Save again, refresh, Save again ;)
  5. Dont touch IVS rules on the NVR going forward.

This is one of the pitfalls of trying to use the NVR for camera settings on a NVR with a built in PoE switch. Things dont synch well all of the time.

1. You mean on the NVR directly go thru each camera and clear the IVS rules? The IVS doesn't save any changes on the NVR..which is the main problem. I took one camera and factory reset it, but that's the main issue..on the camera interface not getting the alarm out and buzzer menus showing up. The 2nd & 3rd pic I posted show I set up alarm stuff on NVR and it never applies (goes back to blank). On the config tool camera interface the alarm & buzzer menus are not there. When I use the Web interface w IE for NVR..ONLY on IVS it will not change or save. Beginning to think I need to upgrade firmware on the NVR - look at last picture. The problem, is affecting older and new cameras alike. The only one that works (where I can edit) is the oldest firmware on camera channel 2 (see pic 5). Thinking the old camera firmware on 2 is compatible with old NVR firmware..but the others aren't.

I ignore the NVR, if the camera settings (On the camera interface) take (IVS for example) mine have always worked as expected. Like I say the whole synch think doesnt seem to work well on PoE NVR's.
