Do i have an 5442-Z4E-S3 or Older?

Was reading a thread about the 5442-Z4E-S3, an upgraded model for the 5442-Z4E. The Dahua website also mentions the S3 for both the IPC-HFW5442E-Z4E and the IPC-HDW5442T-ZE.

Exactly how does one conclusively determine whether they have the S3 or an older model? I mean, does the UI state it or must one run a terminal command? Seriously, beyond the claims of the seller how do we know for sure we are getting the exact model spec?

I presume you all have methods for conclusively identifying what you purchase.

So there is no conclusive method beyond trust. I was hoping the UI would at least state the full #s for those of you with different versions. Crazy logic, apparently.

The S3 is the newer GUI and the older one is the older GUI.

If the GUI is black and gray it is the older model. If blue, it is the S3.

Plus sometimes, under "Systems Info" that will list the full Device Model" which may included the S3 designation. (note: login into camera to locate this information which is in the gear in the upper right hand corner of the screen)
