Hi!
We live in a block of apartments where we have installed a HikVision intercom system. This is paired with 4 Dahua IP cameras.
We managed to configure the indoor units to view outside Dahua IP cameras around the building. The only way we could see the cameras on the indoor screen and the Hik-Connect app was to add them using RTSP URL.
Every indoor unit is connected to a different WiFi.
The result is that every owner can view the outside cameras from anywhere using Hik-Connect.
The only problem is that the live view on Hik app of these cameras is delayed or slow, but only when the user is not connected to the same network as the indoor station.
When we are connected to the same WiFi, everything is perfect, even on higher settings of the sub-stream. The moment we switch on cellular data or connect to other WiFi, the live view starts to become very laggy. We tried lowering the settings on sub-stream of ip cameras, but not much changed.
We thought of transcoding problems, but why does the app works perfectly fine on the same WiFi as the doorbell?
Also, in the attempt to find a perfect solution of pairing HikVision intercom to Dahua NVR we tried connecting the cameras using ONViF with port 80. The live view was from the mainstream and the Hik-Connect app had no problems on playback on any network from anywhere. We didn’t keep this setup because we were unable to visualise the surrounding cameras from the doorbell screen, only using the Hik app.
Thank you!
