I had been having problems with Deepstack, so I disabled it and the problems went away. I just updated to the newer Deepstack that came out a little while ago hoping that the issue was taken care of. I guess I really don't know if this is an issue or not, but I keep getting notifications in my email that I'll post. Maybe someone can tell me if something is wrong because I have no clue. Here is the example of the emails I keep getting. Thanks.

Looking at your detection times they are far too long for DeepStack to work. Detection times need to be under 1000ms, one second, and preferably much, much, faster. Mine are under 100ms.

The first thing to do is to make sure you've optimized your BI machine and get the CPU utilization as low as possible. Next uncheck "use high resolution" in the AI configuration tab of each camera. Limit the number of images sent to DS to 30 maximum.

Next step is to consider a CUDA capable graphics card and install the GPU version of DeepStack. Looking at your sig line I see you have a GTX1660. That will handle DeepStack with no problem and get detection times down to the 100ms range when using the stock detection model only.

The GPU is in my office computer. My BI server has no GPU as I was told when I built it, that a GPU was worthless for BI.
I'll go and look at the settings you were talking about. I'm new to Deepstack, and have not spent much time with it, so I'm sure I have missed something along the way.
Thanks.

Ok, when you say detection times, are you referring to the section that says analyze one each: ???

Where are you referring to uncheck use high resolution. There is no box, but there is the dropdown that gives you options of database only and use high resolution etc. I was using Database only already, if this is what you are referring to.

Where you say limit the number of images to DS to 30 max, where will I do that?

Thanks.

All the settings are made on a per camera basis. In the camera configuration, trigger tab, artificial intelligence box (sort of center left).

Are you using sub streams in Blue Iris? What does your CPU utilization look like?

CPU for 9 cameras without any alerts or things going on is about 9-11%. When Deepstack kicks in in jumps up pretty good for short bursts. Sometimes up to 30-50%.

I do understand about each setting on a per camera basis. I have gone into the AI box and set analyze one each at 500ms. Is that good? It gives me the option to go down to 250ms. I have min confidence set to 50%, and + real-time images at 5. What should I look to set all these at?

I am still not sure about where you say limit the number of images to DS to 30 max. Where will I do that? Or am I just misunderstanding your terminology? :blankstare:

And I am using substreams.

Real time mages is what I am talking about. I've found five to be a little low, but it all depends on the view of the camera, size of the target and general contrast/brightness levels.

500ms should be fine. Another thought is what is the pre-trigger time? Found in the record tab of each camera.

How is recording set? Contiuous+Alerts or Continuous+Triggered?

Have you seen any improvement so far?

Pre trigger video buffer is 5.0 sec
I went and changed real time images to 10 if you think 5 is low.

Recording is set to continuous+Alerts

As far as improvements, what are you referring to?

What problem are you exactly having?

Your log isn't really showing an error as it relates to DeepStack (other than some of the make times are large, but they didn't time out).

Is it that the nothing found should have been detecting something? Nothing found is not an error in and of itself. It simply means it did not find anything for what you set it up to find.

It is just coincidence that these emails are coming when you enabled DeepStack - you must either have an alert set up in one of these that became active when you turned on DeepStack or you are asking for periodic status emails that were dormant but now come up with DeepStack enabled.

I would suggest going into your camera alerts - both under the trigger tab and immediate alerts and the alerts tab and see if you have them enabled to send an email whenever the camera is triggered.

Okay, in the trigger section where it says when triggered: Add to alerts list: Should I have that as No? There are no alerts active that I can see.

You probably want the alerts added to the alert list and that is different than email alerts.

Look in the Alerts tab down at the bottom where it says on alert and then see if you have it set to email you whenever it is alerted.

Another location you could be getting these emails is from under the BI Camera status page:

under Status > Log > Status Alerts (bottom of screen) > and then see if anything is checked there to send an email.

There is nothing set in the alerts tab.

In the status under Action set there was a box checked to email. It was set to go to my email. I unchecked it. Maybe I shouldn't and just adjust the fire every ____ min. to longer?????

That is up to you. If you do not want those emails, simply turn the feature off.
