Bought a used Hikvision DS-7608NI-E2/8P/A off eBay last year but only powered it on twice before to make sure it worked. Went to set it up today but the power supply blew and now the NVR is completely dead.

After a quick search, power supply’s are hard to get in the UK and Hikvision don’t supply parts or provide support to end users.

Can anyone advise if there is anywhere in the UK to get a new power supply or even just some troubleshooting tips?
 
I am just assuming as it was where the popping noise came from when I flicked the switch. My past experience with PCs tells me it would normally be the power supply that failed. I’ve tried another power lead but the NVR is still dead.

Thanks Tony, that is exactly what I’m after. I just hope it is the power supply now or it hasn’t damaged anything else!

Also have a look around for any bloated/popped capacitors.
