Dahua Turret - Up against a window?

How would a turret style camera perform if it was pressed up against a window - with the camera inside facing outside?

I understand that this isn't an ideal setup but I have a particular area of the home I want coverage and we're going to move in the next year or two so I don't want to put in the effort of running cables and patching holes.

Would IR at night be totally ineffective because of reflections? If so, I'll probably cross a starlight model off my list.

During the day it may be ok, but as you mentioned at night, useless if IR is on.

Big No-No

Even with a Hikvision ColorVu model, I wouldn't advise putting it up against a window. Its easy for light from outside and inside to reflect off windows
