Greetings to everyone on the forum.

I want to buy the Dahua NVR5216-4KS2 so I am interested in its features and if I would get much more by buying it.
I currently own and use a Dahua Network recorder from the Lite Series NVR4108HS-4KS2/L, so I'm wondering if I were to buy a NVR from the Pro Series NVR5216-4KS2, what would I get in terms of image quality and features and would it be an improvement?

I am interested in the impressions of users who have NVR5216-4KS2 and if they have any problems with it or bugs...

Thanks in advance for the answers!

The 52XX series is the go to NVR by many here and is highly recommended when people come here looking for a recommendation.

The image quality is mostly attributed to the camera BUT the 5216 can transmit more data than the 4108 (320Mbps compared to 80Mbps) and once you get cameras higher than 4MP, this becomes a limiting factor of NVRs with 80Mbps. So you would be able to run higher bitrates with the 5216 which would improve the image quality.

The other big advantage is the 52XX series has AI capabilities.

Dear @wittaj thanks, my only concern is that in the NVR5216-4KS2 compression specs it doesn't support AAC audio, while in the NVR4108HS-4KS2/L specs it does support AAC audio for the mic..

Actually, does it depend on the camera or the NVR, because I only use AAC and it works best for the mic sound!

And if I install two HDDs in the NVR5216-4KS2 that are not the same size (Both are WD, one is 10TB and the other is 4TB) will it be a problem, or does it not matter and both HDDs can be from different manufacturers and with different capacities..?

How the NVR will register (read) them, as one unit (1 HDD) or as two independent HDDs?

Specifically, the HDD models I own are WD:

1. WD101PURP - 10 TB, 256 MB, 7200rpm
2. WD40PURZ - 4 TB, 64 MB, 5400rpm

Could it also be a problem that one is 7200rpm and the other is 5400rpm?

If you are getting the non-poe version, pay the extra $30 and go from 16 to 32 camera version.
