Dahua NVR4108 - manual snapshot question

I just upgraded to this NVR. It seems pretty likeable in most ways but I can't get it to take a manual snapshot during Playback.

I follow these steps:
1. Main Menu->Search
2. Plug in flash drive to USB port
3. Select the day
4. Select 1 Ch. view
5. Select Ch. number
6. Select Play icon
7. Select full screen icon
8. Hover cursor over the bottom of Search GUI
9. Pause Video (will also work without pausing video)
10. Select Snapshot icon

The Snapshot icon does not respond with the tiny checkmark. No image is captured.

On the other hand, manual Snapshot during Preview works fine (but only with Dahua cameras).

Any ideas?

I can now answer my own question.

The NVR4108HS-4KS2 came with 3.210 firmware from May 2017. This feature did not work. Now I have installed 3.215.0000000.1.R.170902, and the Manual Snapshot icons have been removed from the Playback screen.

So, the feature was broken and Dahua has chosen, at least for now, to delete it entirely.
