Anybody have a clue for what's causing this? About once a week, very approximately, the 5216-4ks2 NVR changes the record schedule for the 2 thermal camera channels from the first picture to the second picture. Happens only with the thermal camera.

One is channel 4 and one is channel 5?
I dont have mine hooked up currently but I recall on my model the thermal channel didnt have IVS

The thermal channels are 5 and 6, and they get changed together. I was just using 4 as an illustration and after I took the snapshots copied 4 into 5 and 6. It will likely hold for at least a few days. The camera is one that Andy still sells and has IVS on both channels. Can the camera change the schedule in the NVR? Maybe somebody knows....

Like on any camera, If I make setting changes on the camera GUI, it will push much/most of that setting information back to the NVR
The problem people get into is that its not reliable going the other direction - Changes on NVR>>>Camera doesnt work well sometimes.

Is this camera connected to BI?
If so, we have seen some instances of BI changes settings in the camera (I have only seen it in the PTZ turning on MD/SMD), but maybe BI is changing a setting in the camera and then the camera is changing it in the NVR?
So if it is connected to BI, remove it from BI for a week and see if it goes away.

Have more info. The recording schedule for the thermal camera on the NVR gets clobbered whenever the thermal camera boots. That's why it got reset once a week, because the camera auto reboots once a week. I shut down the BI system for testing and it's not a factor. Whenever the thermal camera boots, its schedule in the NVR gets reset to not record any events. I searched through the camera and NVR menus to find anything that might affect this, with no luck.
The questions now are:
1. Does anybody know what's going on and/or how to fix it?
2. Is somebody here running one of Andy's thermal cameras with an NVR and NOT seeing this problem?

So you had the BI computer turned off the entire time and then rebooted the camera and then changed the schedule in the camera and and saved and refreshed and logged out and logged back in to confirm the settings took and then rebooted the camera and confirmed that the schedule changed?
If you didn't test it like that, then BI could have sent a command that doesn't take effect until the camera reboots.
So if BI wasn't off for at least 2-3 camera reboots, BI could have been sending commands.
Got it. Mine is the TPC124X-AI-S2. With the BI machine off, I reset and confirmed the schedule settings in the NVR, rebooted the camera, and kept pinging the NVR schedule. At the end of the camera boot cycle, the NVR schedule changed.
There's a newer firmware on Andy's web site that I guess I need to try. One of the fixed bugs is:
"Fixed the issue that there are missing alarms when using with NVR."
With translation quality in mind, that might be what I'm seeing. It took me a long time to get onto this because the event triggers always worked in BI, making it non-urgent.

Have you checked just verify that after the "change" in schedule it isnt still recording correctly anyway?
I only say that because I had a camera that would do similar years ago but it still recorded correctly, the NVR just wouldnt accept the schedule in its display tab

The 24x7 recording works ok, just no events. I downloaded the new firmware from Andy. Now I have to get past the fear of bricking the camera.
