I have an ex china N4104-P Dahua NVR. It's listing firmware are 3.201.0000.1.R and Web of 3.1.0.65833.

I notice that NVR firmware is now availble on the Dahua site with no login? (NVR - Dahua Technology)

Are there any risks of bricking? And of the 3:
  • DH_NVR4xxx_Eng_P_V3.203.0000.0.R.20170612
  • DH_NVR4XXX-4KS2_Eng_V3.212.0000.1.R.20170224
  • DH_NVR41-W_Eng_P_V3.202.0000.1.R.20170401
Which would I choose? To me it looks like the DH_NVR4xxx_Eng_P_V3.203.0000.0.R.20170612 Unless there's a way of determining if I have the 4kS2 model

I brought one of these from Ali and recently upgraded the firmware from the Dahua site and it was fine

actually it was more than fine it was great as the new firmware allows you to directly access the cams interface and from there the SD card recording

my system version is 3.203.0000.0.R

I think the other firmware versions are for the other NVR versions - check which one you have, mine is the dual core what only supports 4mp cams the newer one supports 8mp cams

I may have tried the wrong version initially and it just didn't load or said some message so no damage

the top one on your list is the same as my system version

if you have the newer NVR then I think its the second one

Hmm not sure if it took. Seems I'm on the same version, and it's rebooted.

Is a web browser upgrade not recommended? I assume it will reset all settings after upgrade.

I should look at plugging in a screen and doing a USB upgrade.
