Hi everyone,

I'm contemplating an indoor surveillance system for my new appartment and the mini wedge is the only gf-compliant form factor there is so I wanted to have an idea of the possible positionnings. Can they be tilted and set up on both walls and ceiling? It seems that they come with an inclination by default ? The cameras will be at c. 2.5m height (ceiling or on the wall close to the ceiling).

This is the exact camera https://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/productDetail/3691

I'll have 4 cameras and will be using XProtect Essential+

Thanks a lot!

If you mount it in a corner of the room, the 2.8mm will cover all of the room. If you want a little less fisheye affect, then the 3.6mm will cover the majority of the room from a corner.

Thanks that's very helpful. Wild you recommend the 2.8 or 3.6 model? The room are quite small and the largest will be around 30sqm
Hi @ytzelf

You can use this as a guide to help you. I've converted the "ID distance" ( distance to the 100 ppf density - which is a good rule for getting enough pixels on a facial image to be able to ID a suspect ) to meters.

Dahua IPC-HDW4231EM-AS starlight fixed lens 1080p 1920x1080
w/2.8mm lens FOV H 110 degrees: 10 feet { area covered 95.94 sq feet covered } -> 3.28M
w/3.6mm lens FOV H 87 degrees: 12.65 feet { 121.43 sq feet covered } -> 4.15M
w/6mm lens FOV H 51 degrees: 21.58 feet { 207.16 sq feet covered } -> 7.08M

Ah thanks that's very helpful.I have a feeling that given the rather constrained spaces (I hate saying that about my new appartement), the 3.6 model will serve me better
