I'm having issues with 4 of my 5 Dahua 4431C-A's that I have around the home. It seems that daily I will happen to check my vmeyesuper app or idmss or even SmartPss and notice that my cameras feed is scrambled. I have all of them on the exact same settings of 6144 bitrate, 1080P, and the rest is shown in my screenshots. It seems that if I go into SmartPss and change a setting and click apply, it will revert back to looking sharp again...like any setting will make it go back to normal, I've even changed settings then changed them back and it will work again. I've had this issue for a couple days now so recently I changed my bitrate from 8192 bitrate to 6144 and yet the issue still persists.

Here is a link with the scrambled feed, the current settings and the corrected feed after simply clicking apply....I would assume if this is my feed, my NVR is probably recording scrambled also, but I haven't checked just yet.

Any advice?

try setting it to CBR, H264 (no H) and i Frame to FPS

Thanks Nayr. I started by changing the iFrame down to the fps setting and so far so good since doing that.

Also, while I do have 5 - 4mp cameras, my 16 - channel ION NVR accepts up to 3MP resolution (2048x1536) but my Dahua's output in 3MP is not the 2048x1536 standard so my ION NVR does not output....so the next best is 2mp until I switch to a Dahua NVR to make use of my 4MP resolutions. All my cameras are from Aliexpress, if that matters, so I'm cautions about firmware updates.

So I logged into my Dahua's and here are the resolutions:

2592x1520
2560x1440
2304x1296
1080

I don't know why my NVR won't take the 2304x1296 resolution, but I guess because its different from the standard 2048x1536.

Yeah, hard to say. That is why I prefer software NVRs over hardware NVRs :)

Anyway, caution about firmware updates is always a good idea, especially with IP cameras from aliexpress. If the iframe interval change fixes it permanently, then there is no need to mess with firmware :)

I haven't really looked into any software...I do love SmartPSS on my iMac(late 2015)and Macbook (early 2015) but I don't know of any other good ones.

Yeah, I don't know of anything better for Mac either. I'm sure there is something out there, but it is hard to do better than free when free works as well as it does.
