Dahua initial setup - DHCP always grabs same or existing Dahua camera IP

I have noticed on the last three 5442 Dahua cameras when I plug the camera into the switch in my office for initial setup, it always seems to take the IP of another Dahua camera on the network and it acts strange as the previous Dahua was set as static address but it seems to flip back and forth with 2 cameras trying to take same IP address. I actually had to unplug another camera to get the initial setup completed and set a different static IP.

I have Unifi gear running the unifi controller.

Does anyone else see this behavior?

I know I could configure connected directly to my PC but that is much more work.

+1^^.
For your static IP assignments to the cams, just use those that are OUTSIDE of the router's DHCP pool.
In other words, if the router's DHCP pool is 192.168.1.50 to 192.168.1.99, use 192.168.1.200 to 192.168.1.253 for your cams, printers. etc.

all new dahua cameras come with fixed ip address of 192.168.1.108

to solve your issue, assign a different fixed static ip to your other cameras , eg. 192.168.1.201, 192.168.1.202 and so on..
do not use dhcp.
LOL. Ok this is my garage camera's IP and explains it all. Thanks!

Of course I don't use DHCP for when the camera is setup but I need to log in the first time via a network connection to change it to static.

Then make sure that your router's DHCP pool does not include 192.168.1.108!
I think I will now that I know! I think this is my only set of devices that has that silly hard coded IP address like that so I haven't had to divide up my DHCP pool.

I'm sure I have a few other network setup mishaps I need to fix...I will eventually find them all.

Thanks for the help!
