Crossing power supply cables

Hello All

Working out the routes for cabling to at least two of my external camera locations and I will have to cross 240v mains supply cables

What is the best way to do this & does the Cat6 cable need shielding in any way (to avoid interference)

The cables I need to cross are fitted externally to mine & adjoining properties are are the main electrical feeds to our properties

We're in the UK so its 240 volts at 50 Hz if that makes any difference

My Cat6 cable is unshielded so I'm wondering if I need to shield the cable somehow - and if so, which is the best way of doing it

I know that I need to cross the power cables at 90 degrees

No, it does not need to be shielded.

Network like this is a balanced connection and as such it is inherently pretty immune to interference.

Crossing at 90 is good, and as much distance as possible without going out of your way.

IMO, the only real gotcha and even that is iffy would be long runs close to and parallel with power wires.
