i've been here for a lil while, but haven't posted much. Thought i'd post some pics of my Hikvision install and see if any of you folks would suggest i do anything different. I also have a fourth camera coming that should be here next week to cover my back yard
The front door cam is a DS-2CD2385FWD-I 2.8mm, the two side cams are DS-2CD2042WD-I 4mm. the one on order is a DS-2CD2335FWD-I 2.8mm, which will go at the front door, and the 2385 will go in the back yard. I'm also in the process of adding IR illuminators to put around the property.

To me the front door camera is to high. The normal test is have a friend in a hoodie, ball cap and sun glasses, if you can not easily identity the friend, the camera is to high.

i thought about that when installing, but i wanted to stay as inconspicuous as possible and keep the cam out of arm's length, but i guess it wouldnt matter if they had a baseball bat. I may end up going with a pendant mount for it.

The more conspicuous the better. The perp will stay away from cameras. Keep the camera at arms length is what is need to identify the perp. I use two cameras at the front and back doors, one high, and on at about 5 feet

good to know, in that case i will need to relocate probably two of them. I only ever looked through the cliff notes in regards to the NVR and my network, guess i need to sit one night and read through the entire thing, learn myself something new
