continous recording and CPU usuage

Testing BI. Very new to BI and wondering if continuos recording reduces CPU. Also does pre-triger frame buffer option usable with continous recording?

The short answer is yes.
I have 4 cameras set to 3MP at 20fps recording continuously to a 2TB hard drive that register about 44% CPU. Prior to that when it was first installed with the default settings of motion sensor in the trigger tab the CUP was constantly around 99%
