If you don't have an "E" model, then there's the question if you have V1 or V2 hardware. Some of the firmware works only on V2.

Consider why you think you need to update the firmware.
If it's not broke, don't fix it.
If you use the incorrect one, you risk bricking the NVR.

I just have to report back. I took the plunge with the update and all went well. Yay! My reasoning for updating was to get the 'bridge mode'. I am running all my cameras to a POE switch and then have only one cable to run to my NVR that was in a different room. Fortunately, with this update I got my bridge mode, although it wasn't labeled bridge mode, and all is well.
