Morning genius. Got a problem, I have two hik nvr’s. One with 16cha ports and one with 8ch. 16 cameras are connected directly to 16ch nvrs port. I would like 8 cams to record on 2nd NVR as backup. Is their any way I can record them without switch? Both Nvrs are connected to router. Thanks in advance.

Not sure about hik but on dahua you can manually search/add per channel whatever it finds on the local network. If it finds the other nvr just point to whatever channel from it that you want.
hi. thank you for the reply. i tried adding main nvr's ip and channel no, but keep coming up as wrong channel port. previously i addred smiler from dvr to nvr, and it worked. i do remember reading someone mention dvr/nvr works as decorder. thank you
