looking to buy a computer dedicated to blue iris, is this one good? Will eventually work my way up to 12+ cameras.

  • Dell Outlet Inspiron 3668 Desktop
  • Processor: Intel Core 7th Generation i5-7400 Processor (Quad Core, up to 3.50 GHz, 6M Cache, 65W)
  • Windows 10 Home 64bit English
  • 1TB SATA Hard Drive (7200 RPM)
  • 8GB DDR4 Non-ECC UDIMM 2400MHz (1x8GB)
  • Tray load DVD Drive (Reads and Writes to DVD/CD)
  • Integrated Video Card
i didn't see the i5-7400 listed specifically on the wiki for choosing hardware for blue iris, wanted to make sure it would work. Also says Integrated video card, will this cause any problems?

$413 - is this a good deal?

413 is way overpriced for a 7th gen processors. There were vostros with 8th gen i5 for 500 or so recently.
You WANT the integrated intel video for hardware acceleration.
the number of camera is irrelevant, its the total resolution. 12 1mp cameras are very different than 12 8mp cameras.
windows pro is ideal.
you can buy a i5-6500 based elitedesk/prodesk for 200 or so. Will perform the same as the 7th gen.
