BlueIris is PC software "System requirements: Microsoft Windows 7 or Windows 8, 32 or 64 bit" so you'd need to run windows via Bootcamp, which is a bit of a waste of a mac. Or you'd have to run it as a virtual machine. But given that BlueIris does video analysis for motion detection and recording, it is a bit CPU intensive; and therefor probably not something I'd advise you to do beyond a small trial.
That said, can you tell a little more about your project idea, which mac you have, the number of cameras you're looking to record from etc.
There may be some mac software that is suitable, bypassing windows.
