Please see attached photos of a recently acquired Annke 191BI (rebranded from Hikvision DS-2CD2T87G2P-LSU/SL).

Request suggestions on how to close off the slot/hole on the side of the camera base.
If left open, that slot would let insects enter the box and build nests.
That base plate can be rotated, but the slot would be a problem regardless of the direction it faces.

I am going to install this cam on an eaves soffit, on the official mounting box.
The slot is on the side of the base of the camera itself.
I won’t have any wires coming out of that slot, wires from the cam will run into the mounting box, and connect with an ethernet cable coming from the eaves and entering the mounting box directly.

Thanks folks, saw that stuff in other posts, though have not used it thus far.
Wondering if there might be a hard plastic or metal solution, and whether the sealant would hold up outdoors over time.

For $5, it's not much of a gamble. It will keep out the insects over a loooong period of time. It's used commercially and I can attest to its longevity.
