"Customers of Aksoy’s fraudulent and counterfeit devices included hospitals, schools, government agencies, and the military."

Doesn't anyone in our gov't check things out? They buy off of eBay?

"Between 2014 and 2022, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seized approximately 180 shipments of counterfeit Cisco devices being shipped to the Pro Network Entities from China and Hong Kong. In response to some of these seizures, Aksoy falsely submitted official paperwork to CBP under the alias “Dave Durden,” an identity that he used to communicate with Chinese co-conspirators."

All I could think of when I read that name was Dirk Diggler.

More likely a guy in IT or outside MSP buying direct from these companies online websites or via amazon looking for the lowest price not caring about buying from a third party seller.
Or amazon mixing their legit product with counterfeit 3rd party products. This was supposed to stop but they still do it.
