After buying a Hikvision speed dome ptz, I quickly got fed up with those annoying directional arrows etc, they easily overshoot your objective unless of course you choose your presets. I am sure a joystick would be more manageable. So checking out the prices of Hikvision keyboards I found them to be far too expensive up to 3 figures.
I then went onto eBay and checked out some cheaper ones at 2 figures, but not Hikvision. Trouble is I don't know if non Hikvision are compatable. £30 to £50 GBP is sufficient for me.

So my question is - is anyone using a Hikvision ptz with another cheaper brand of key/joy? And what is the make model and number plz?

Or will they all fit anyway: as in universal?

I am not looking forward to learning to wire up the thing anyway, as I hate heights and and Delirium tremens does not help, I'd need to detox for a month, These 2 guys charged me £100 (125$) gbp just to wire up the Cat 5e.

NVR is DS-7608NI-K2/8P

most IP PTZ's dont have joystick inputs, you'd require a NVR with a RS485 input to even consider using one.

Thanks for that, you learn something every day! I'll do some research and see if my NVR is suited.

Yep, my NVR is RS485 compatible..
