Case fan

Hi all, I have just purchased a Hikvision 7600 series 4 channel dvr, I have a 4tb sata drive to install but wondered if I need a case fan ? 40mm x 40mm x 10 or 20mm.
Thank you.
 
I’m a noob here, but since nobody else has answered your question, I’ll take a shot. Rule of thumb says, electronic equipment likes to run cool. A fan, if one doesn’t already exist, will help. In my experience, the only downside is dust.

Generally you don't need to add fans to products like that just because you added a hard drive which it was designed to run with.

If it has room for a fan, and the power supply or motherboard in there has a way for you to plug the fan in, then by all means you can add one and it might help the hard drive last longer. I'd suggest picking something from the Noctua brand, or at least something advertised as being quiet. Tiny fans like that are often loud if you just buy something cheap and generic, or something with a high RPM.
