I'm trying to install a DS21 Doorbell Wireless Chime to connect to my DB6I doorbell, which is connected to a Dahua NVR.

Its manual told me to use the DMSS app, press the + button, scan the chime serial number, let my phone connect to the chime's Wifi. All this worked.

The DMSS app then surprised me by asking for login credentials. The username "admin" was prefilled and the password was blank. The chime manual didn't mention this step.

My username and password for logging into the DMSS app didn't work, nor did admin/[blank]. What credentials are they looking for here?

Probably related to your other post about not knowing the user/pw....

Yep, not knowing what to do with the login prompt led me to find I couldn't access the web UI.

So, does every camera have a user+pass that the NVR has been told in order to stream it? Each could have its own user+pass that is distinct from the NVR's? Or does the camera know the NVR's user+pass in order to work with it? I'm still not clear what user+pass the chime setup could be asking for, since it's brand new out of the box. It would seem like it's asking me to set a user+pass on the chime that the NVR will then use to talk with it... except it's refusing anything I enter.
