I have compared side by side and cannot find any, except the 4300 is cheaper by about $50 than the 2300

IPC-HFW4300S = 3.6mm fixed lens (6mm,8mm optional)
IPC-HFW2300R-Z/VF = 2.7~12mm varifocal lens

The 2300 doesn't seem to be a fixed lens camera, so it has optical zoom capabilities. Unless you really don't think you'll need that, $50 seems a reasonable price to have that, because it's a pretty nice thing to have. http://www.networkcameracritic.com/?p=2550

You have one model number listed incorrectly. Here are both side by side. They look the same to me, 2.8-12mm motorized zoom. You had, above, "4300S" when in fact, I was asking about the 4300R.
