Hi, newbie here trying to get a security camera (or two) set up with my neighbors in a small group of townhomes.

I have a Dell Inspiron 3050 mini PC that I bought on black Friday 2 years ago. It acts as my home server with a USB hard drive attached for backups, and enough power to play movies to the attached TV. It runs a Celeron processor, although the newer Celerons are not as bad as the old ones!

If I get a Wi-Fi IP camera that supports h.264 or h.265, can I use iSpy (or Blue Iris or similar) to record the video from the camera to an external hard drive? Or will the CPU be totally pegged trying to record that video?

Thanks!
Josh

Would rollerblades be an acceptable way to get to work?

Maybe.. Probably..? It depends on a few different things.

You should give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Most Celeron processors hve poor performances and if yours is an Intel Celeron J1800 @ 2.41GHz then cpu benchmark reports a score of 1080 that is not good today's small Core i3 like i3-6006U (used for notebook) has a score of 3117 I always recommand users to avoid any Celeron processors.
