Can a Dahua XVR record Sub-streams only?

Can a Dahua XVR record Sub-streams only? I am moving my parents from a Dahua DVR to Blue Iris, but still have to use the XVR as an encoder for one Analog channel that cannot be rewired at this time.

We would like to use the Dahua XVR as a redundant system (especially until they learn the new system). The problem is the main streams kick off a camera or two due to bandwidth limitations of the XVR.

How do you add just a sub stream? All camera’s are Dahua except one Hik.

You can choose which streams to record under Storage/Record

Alternately, you could simply reduce the fps and bitrate on the main stream to something lower...
