I'll add that this one likely does not work with an NVR POE port. (But I don't have an NVR with POE ports so I could be wrong on this.) Also, with this type of device, you're treading very close to the port power limit with a 15 watt (non-POE+) port when the camera IR lights are running full blast.(it's essentially a POE-powered 2 port POE switch)

I've used the device Andy sells EmpireTech PFT1300 PoE Extender $29.98, as well as one from ebay, and both worked well.
OK, I received the Sodola POE Extender on Friday, 6/2 and got it installed Monday 6/5. So far so good but as we all know, time will tell after a few months of 'Bama summer heat, humidity, rain and likely some thunderstorms (hopefully not severe).Would be great if you can report back and let us know. The “Waterproof” casing got my interest.
yes so far without any problems.Didn't know this was possible. So will they work from an NVR's POE port?
I have purchased 5442 cameras. Where can I find the picture settings you wrote for them?So yes some no.
I find it works best with an external switch in the two instances I have. I couldnt get them to work via the NVR PoE ports
I would leave the camera running in color at the front door.I have 6 at home and dozens more on systems I manage. Each one is different settings. Some VERY different
Different models also need different settings, Fixed, VF, ambient light, speed of target, ..etc
Will it be very dark and using IR? or lots of nighttime light and running color?
