Andy was suppose to update to latest firmware before shipping nvr. The firmware date on nvr software is different from date on dahua nvr box. Dont know if that is where ip address came from? Going to shut down nvr unplug cams and re plug them in one at a time.

Directly into the NVR PoE ports, no external switch
tried that rebooted twice and my cameras still show the 37777 port. I still cant log into web through my laptop. My brother in law who works in IT came over to help. We hooked up my old dahua nvr to laptop through ethernet cord and was able to get web interface. Un hooked same cord and hooked to new 5208 through enternet switch on back and it will not log into web interface. My brother in law is convinced that ethernet port is defective? What else should i do? I will prob see if Andy will exchange it for a new one hopefully. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Thx.

I can guarantee that you wont reach the cameras via the NVR web GUI and the IE button (using the NVR PoE ports) if they show using port 37777

^^^^^^^
This is true when using the built-in PoE ports on the NVR. It will assing a 10.1.1.x address to each camera and a port of 1,2,3, etc.
For external switch cameras, they will indeed use the 37777 port

Try deleting them from both the top and bottom panes, clear it completely, then reboot with the camera plugged into one of the NVR PoE ports

Hey @gansle , you got me to thinking with your screencaps.

You CAN access the 37777 cams with the blue IE icon, I was wrong. sorta. I wrongly assumed you were using the built-in PoE ports.

See below. Buddy I helped installed a 5432 16P NVR. He used all 16 poE ports and then added a switch for additonal cams. They DO show up and are accessible via the blue IE icon on the NVR. We DID add those manually, but you cant add the 10.1.1.x cameras on the PoE ports manually.

Basically when using the built-in PoE ports, the NVR will assign them an IP (10.1.1.x) and a local port (1,2,3) and they will automatically populate the bottom pane. You cant add them manually or it will mess up.

On cameras connected via external switch (like the ones shown at 192.168.1.x) you search for them in the top pane, and then add them to the bottom manually. These you need to typically add one at a time and login to the camera and assign it an IP other than .108 as that is the default IP for all Dahua cams. Then add another and assign it another IP and so on, one at a time.

I have 4 2mp cams and 1 new 4mp 5442e bullet. My 2mp 25x ptz and 5442e have external poe + switch to power them then they go back into the poe ports on the 5208p 4ks2e nvr. I have all 5 cams plugged into back of nvr poe ports 1-5. I cannot log into any of the cameras via web through laptop. They would not load automatically so had ti add them manually and they show 37777 port not port 1-5.

What IP addresses are being assigned to the cameras? With the setup you describe can you show what the Registration page shows now with the 5 cams plugged in?

It might help to eliminate the ones using the external Poe+ switch at first and focus on getting the ones using the PoE ports with no external switch working first.

Ok so the internal switch is assigning IP's on 10.1.1.x so thats as it should be, but oddly assigning ports as 37777... hmmmm

And you still have no IE icons?

Yup no IE icons last night we plugged in just my 6 year old cam no switch and it popped up same in address in port 37777.

If I click on pencil to edit I can change the port 37777. Should I try and change to a 1 or 2 etc?

You could try that ...

I just tested a brand new 2831 on a brand new 4108-8P-4KS2 NVR and plugged it into PoE port #1 and this is what I get. Didnt touch anything except I assigned the NVR to 192.168.1.109

Just changed port 37777 to 1 and lost video and said cannot find network host. Changed it back to one it turned green and video came back up on camera one. all of the screenshots that I have been showing you are from the NVR to my TV so I am still not able to connect any of the cameras to my laptop to change settings.
