Hi guys, i have a dahua nvr4208-8p-4ks2 and 7 cameras hdw4431. When a power cut occurs the nvr restarts but it didn't "see" any camera connected so i have to restart it manually and everything runs normally.
That's obviously not good because in case of a power outage if i'm out for some days the surveillance system is out of service until i go back home.
Could it be an ip issue?

Yes but solve this problem with an ups for me is like to fix a fuel leakage in my car going to the gas station every day, don't you think?
Also look at purchasing an ups.

Nope, the ups is part of the fix, not "the" fix.

Regardless of the issue an ups would be useful of course. I read that the issue could be related to ip (static?) but i'm not expert on those stuffs so i'm looking for help.

Ohhh, look at www.No-IP.com what its does is even if your internet provider changes you external ip address for some reason, this service catches it and still allows you to connect to your devices.

What i have noticed is that everytime nvr power goes off its ip adress changes, so probably is the same for each camera. Is there any way to give them a fixed ip adress?

You have to log into your router and make your nvr ip address static/reserved and that will fix that problem.

That should solve your problem!
Thanks, i will try to apply this solution... unluckyly i'm quite ignorant about those stuffs (reserved ip, static ip etc) so i'm not sure what i've to do in practice.

No problem, I am the same way about a lot of it also. That’s what this forum is for, I would have been lost without it.
