I ran cat 5e though out my home using T568B and check them with a tool to make sure they are good, my tool broke ,So I looked up the wire configuration cause I could not remember it.Tool had it on the back, Now i see a cross over cable has certain uses. How important is this?
This is what I read:
[h=3]Crossover Cable[/h]Sometimes you will use crossover cable, it's usually used to connect same type of devices. A crossover cable can be used to:
1) Connect 2 computers directly.
2) Connect a router's LAN port to a switch/hub's normal port. (normally used for expanding network)
3) Connect 2 switches/hubs by using normal port in both switches/hubs.
My router is connected to a tp-link TL_SG108 then out to a TP-LINK TL-SF1008P that connect to a linksys router. Should I have a crossover cable between the tP links or 2nd router?
