Hello forum.
Need some guidance from you good people.
Have just updated some of my cameras to 4 line Hikvision ones which have full smart IPC function .
I am looking to buy a new NVR and would like to use the vehicle plate/anpr function from the smart function of the DS-2CD4A26FWD-IZHS IPC (http://overseas.hikvision.com/en/Products_accessries_506_i5557.html)
According to the Hikvision web site, looked under Smart 2.0 the range of NVR to use enable this full Smart function is 9600 series but it doesn't make it that clear to which model.
http://overseas.hikvision.com/en/Smart2.0/

My question is
Does the DS9632NI-ST have the full smart functions enabled to use this feature with current firmware as it's not clear. It states the new DS-9632NI-I8 does.
or would a lower spec Hikvision NVR have the full functions or is it only limited smart e.g. to line crossing and motion.
http://overseas.hikvision.com/en/products_210.html

I know I can use the iVMS4200 software to access part of the smart functions of the camera but i would like to use a stand alone system than a PC.

Looking at the 32 camera input NVR as I have 10 cameras input now and don't want to limited myself

Any help or pointers greatly appreciated as the bread crumb path to working this out is doing my head in.
thanks.

why don't you just email Hikvision tech support? I'm looking into buying the DS-9632NI-I8 myself and checking a local distributor. This just barely came out here 3 weeks ago in the US and been out for a while in China.

The DS9632NI-ST will run smart 2.0 on the latest firmware.

The 77xxNI-SP NVR will also run smart 2.0. My understanding is that the 77xxNI-E4 will not as it is not on the Netra platform firmware.

Anything on the NVR list 77xx and above will run smart 2.0.> http://www.hikvision.com/UploadFile/File/2014411590956.pdf

I'd go for the new i8 if it's within your price range as it's H.265, as are the 4 line "WD" cameras with the latest firmware from my understanding.

This will mean you require around 50%ish hard drive space to the comparable H.264 with static cameras.
