Depending on the manufacturer, say Dahua, the turret will generally have a built-in mic and the bullet does not. The bullet will generally have more wires for other options like adding a speaker or mic or automation.

Most here go with performance over appearance, and some of the focal lengths needed only come in bullet format.

Thanks.
So generally, both have the same performance for the same focal length, MP and sensor size, assuming similar or same brand. And bullets give you better connectivity.

So for around my house, turrets will do the job.

Connectivity is the same in both, assuming they're PoE wired, and is excellent. The major difference is when you need focal lengths greater than 12mm. Then you need a bullet because a lens that big won't fit into a turret.
