Can someone do me a favour and give me a run down of their full settings list.

I'm battling this issue with losing focus and its only happening at night.

I'm waiting for a more technical answer from Monica and the engineer but in the meantime I'd like too see if any of my settings are different.

Bummer, I take it you already tried reset? Did you try leaving focus on manual?

I tried manual focus but I didn't leave it on long enough to test because if I do move the camera you have to manually refocus it, which isn't a good solution for me.

Tried reset but still the same

What does your image look like at night? Is it just not enough light to do an autofocus?
(I have yet to receive mine so I have no experience, just thinking out loud)

In case it is defective ask Monica if she can ship you the lens module without having to ship camera for repair back to them. I removed the module when I was troubleshooting the black screen the first day. Appears straightforward removal, but there is a sticker with void warranty if removed.

It looks completely out of focus and blurry

It's pitch black but using the built in ir
There's noting close for it to bounce off to cause it to go off focus for the main image

Oh and did you record a video when it becomes out of focus?

I set it to auto and 1m
Because that's what I had set my speed dome too and its been fine.

Although I'm not actually sure what the distance option means or is for

There are several things that could cause the picture to be blurry. I am using manual focus and capture great license plate pics day or night

Can you actually post a video to youtube?

Did you see my post above about asking Monica for module replacement?

Oh no I hadn't seen it I'll have a look

Once it goes blurry again I'll get the video uploaded so you can see

Note - are you aware of the manual focus buttons on the Live View View page under the PZT controls (focus+ and focus-)

Try changing to manual focus, get a nice sharp picture, leave it alone and see how it looks

yeah I am aware of this but I do occasionally move it which to manually focusing gets a pain!

Update:

Problem still persists
Unfortunately I haven't had time to upload any video

I have however narrowed down the cause.

It happens every transition from daylight to night time.
This is where the problem seems to lie

OK...shot in the dark: the transition from day to night means the camera IR lights up, correct? When this happens the camera draws more power. Just a guess but when the day to night transition occurs the camera may need to refocus to adjust to the lighting change. The refocus also drains power. Therefore, maybe, just maybe, the power being supplied to the camera at this precise point in time (IR lights and camera refocuses) is insufficient. How are you powering this camera? And do you have any alternative method to power the camera to disprove my theory? I'd suggest that you buy one of those TrendNet PoE+ adapters and see if that solves the issue.

Hey, did I ever tell you how they may have faked the moon landings?
