Hi,

I just noticed that no video clips have been recorded since the 12th of this month. Looking at Blue Iris, I saw red text at the bottom and error messages all over the cameras.

Here is a screenshot of what I'm seeing at the bottom:

I originally was just browsing over the network to get to the files, but I thought this may have been a problem so I simply mapped a network drive to Z: but I'm still having the same issues.

Using Blue Iris 4.4.8.7 x64 - As far as I can see, this seems to be current and up-to-date.

Also, here are the lines from the error log:

Here's a screenshot of my clips and db settings:

At first the DB was on the network drive but I saw that its suggested to have it on the local C: so I moved it back over to the local PC. Since it still was not working, I even tried re-building the database and even deleting all the clips and DV and trying to "repair" it again but still no luck.

This issue does not occur when I'm writing clips to the local C: - however I know I don't have any permissions issues because I can navigate and read / write to the network directories otherwise.

I'm also running BI as an administrator so that shouldn't be an issue either.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :)

did you ever find an answer to this? I cannot record to mapped drive or network location with the appropriate rights.

There are many threads discussing this...there is a section of the help file that explains what you need to do when recording to nas.

I've looked at them and still cannot get a network location to work... following multiple other threads on here, testing the network location, writing files to it manually. Everything works. Network location in BlueIris just shows as red... not indication as to what is stopping it.

did you read the help file..this is related to running as a service.

same issue this helped:
Having just gone through this myself like 2 weeks ago I know the answer!

On the camera properties, under the record tab, you need to uncheck this guy: http://imgur.com/0mi3l7j.jpg

Make sure you do the same for all your cameras. Cheers!

Agree with @fenderman, the original issue seems to be related to the user account used to run BI as a service.

In terms of the suggested change, wouldn’t that change mean that you’d end up with a massive video file?

Yes it is just what came up when searching cannot record in BI and this fixed it so I added it.

edit: --> I do understand it is not related now though.
