Blue iris downloads updated version but does not reload

My version is a few weeks old now, after the new version downloads nothing happens.
It used to reload and update on its own.
Tried restarting the BI and the service.

Any suggestions?

Version 5.3.8.0 had this note, so you'll need to download and update manually.

"IMPORTANT: will require manual installation, from the website if updating from 5.3.7.12!, Auto-export alert movies, Asynchronous clip list drawing, Other bug fixes and minor revisions. "

Any idea why the manual download / install is required here? Just curious.

Do I download the most current from their website and click overwrite existing path on the C drive? it won't overwrite all my current configs will it?

Always export your config file when updating manually, just in case! I also make a backup of my config file after I make changes, just in case.

You can set BI to automatically backup the settings in the About Tab.
