Hello

I am running BI5 Release 5.5.6.19 x64. The files are saved in C:\BlueIris\New. The stored and AUX files are saved in the NAS. The system does not move the files at 2:00AM they just sit in the NEW folder. Any ideas on what I should be looking for to fix this issue?

Attached are some pics of my configuration

2am is when the database is compacted and repaired and has nothing to do when files are moved.

All the other files will move in according to the # of days you specified - so if a file started at 4pm, then at 4mp in 7 days it moves.

I have to ask why you like to move files around so often? It's much more efficient to use a single directory with space limiting only. Sure, a different directory can be created for each camera but that's about a granular as you'd probably need from a practical standpoint. That also includes the "New" directory which can also be located somewhere other than the boot drive to help preserve the life of the boot drive especially if it's an SSD drive.

I find it easier to pull up files when looking for a specific date and time

I think I might be doing my recordings similar to your intent. But, I record everything directly to the Stored directory (drive is formatted for 1024K allocation units --- it's a 6TB drive). I don't use the NEW folder at all (you can see I renamed it Not_Used). For each camera I "cut" the recordings into 1 hour segments so I can quickly find 1 hour chunks I'm interested in reviewing. I think this is similar to what you'd like to do.

Why not just use the calendar feature in BI?

All of my videos are in new folder and goes back months and I can find much more quickly going that route than to start thing "was that 28 days ago" and then going to that folder.

No different than recording it to the 'New' directory. The names are meaningless except for the 'Alerts' name, which can't be used to store direct recordings. I do not use 'Stored' at all.

Below is my setup.

I simply don't like to see NEW as a label....because it's new for about 1ns then it's not. But correct, we could call it OldYeller if we wanted to.

I had my Hourly called OldYeller at first. But I got confused as to what was being written there.

The Southern yankee thing: My 8TB WD PURZ 7200 Rpm, did not appreciate the 1024k cluster size, from a noise standpoint. The heads were ridiculously noisy, Went back to defaults after a brief stop at 128K clusters. YMMV
