BI wouldn't launch after changes

Because i had the LPR camera working pretty good for over a week now, i thought id look into some of BI preferred settings, the 2 a seemed to read about the most were :

Hardware accelerated decode Intel®+VPP
Run as a service

this is just one LPR camera on a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro, I7, 32g Ram,

When i made those changes BI locked up, i restarted and it would not launch, i got the little startup screen, then it would disappear. I uninstalled BI and tried to reinstall and same thing,

ended up having to reinstall windows and start over with BI, i used the original setting and it works fine.

Guess i'll be leaving it as i is for now,

No real question here, other than, should i have been messing with those setting, or leave well enough alone?

Newest versions of BI has had issues with HA.

Now that substreams are a thing, HA is t as critical to save CPU % as before substreams.

your system likely had an issue with hardware acceleration. The solution is to turn off the camera start bi then disable HA. The camera could also be removed via the registry.
