I have one area (front of house) where I want to record any motion in the picture, but setup an specific area (Hot Spot) to alert on. I have duplicated the camera in this area (Hik 2032) in BI, and have everything setup. It almost works... :redface-new:

1) At night, whenever car headlights shines on my yard (or across this hot spot (which is not near the road)) it sets the alert off. If I can't the detection method to color only, it never alerts.
2) Can I make this work and if so, How..

If i understand correctly, you set up cloned cameras, one for alerts and one for record. I would not use hotspot for this function..hotspot basically triggers when there is ANY motion in the area, so its like having the sensitively set all the way to the right...just setup the camera with regular motion...you generally want your alert threshold to be higher than your record, this way you never miss a recording but you dont get false alerts...

I have the same problem at my front door. I set object size and contrast further to less sensitivity and the make time at 2.0 seconds. I also mask out the worst area of headlight reflection but not just in front of the door. This works pretty well and still triggers on someone walking onto the front porch. It took a while to fine tune it. Each day I would make small changes until it eliminated about 95% of the headlight triggers.
