Hi all

We have a DS-7608NI-E2/8P NVR with DS-2CD3345G0-I 4MP cameras.

I have the Hikvision app on my phone (which I hate. much prefer the iVMS-4500 iPhone app, but anyway).

I have two "devices" set up - "CCTV" and "CCTV Internal" - obviously "Internal" is for when I'm at home, and viewing the cameras, and can have higher settings because it's on the local network. The other "CCTV" is for when I'm away from the home, so I'm accessing it via external IP.

Now... can you all suggest the best settings for both of those setups, so that the videos load quickly and stream smoothly? I obviously want the highest picture quality, but that's no good if it won't even load or takes ages to load. We changed some settings ages ago, and that must have affected it.

Video settings aren't really my thing, so I'm not sure what to choose.

Thanks :)

You should set up so that multi-camera view uses substream and solo camera uses mainstream.

It's a phone - just go with a low enough substream and bitrate to see what is going on. That is how you make it faster.
