YepI can't tell...are those carpenter bees? The ones that drill perfectly round holes in untreated or unpainted lumber and look a lot like bumble bees?
They may look different here in AL but many folks don't know this: the aggressive one that gets in your face and does frequent fly-by's to intimidate you is usually the male with the white or whitish-yellowish face and he has no stinger...I've knocked a few down and held them in my hand...no stinger.
I was thinking someone was going to get whacked in the 'nads !I expected the bat to go through the window
Thanks for your hives.Without bees, we would not be here. They will not hurt you unless you dink around with their hives. Save the Bees! Can you tell I raise bees & have bee hives?
Even treated lumber, I use a corn broom, more surface.I can't tell...are those carpenter bees? The ones that drill perfectly round holes in untreated or unpainted lumber and look a lot like bumble bees?
I wasn't aware of that; they left my dad's wishing well façade over his well pump alone after he painted it white with regular outdoor paint.Even treated lumber.....
Without carpenter Bees I would have nothing to do on weekends instead of filling holes on my deck and shed.Without bees, we would not be here. They will not hurt you unless you dink around with their hives. Save the Bees! Can you tell I raise bees & have bee hives? Are you sure they were not wasps?
Wow...dem Joisey beez ain't ta be mess wit, ya got that?....My deck is about 25 years old and it was treated lumber then and painted 3 years ago and I still get them. Maybe the age of the treated lumber but the paint didn't stop them.
Not so of the ones here in AL, as mentioned in my post #6, above. (yellow-faced males don't have stingers, black-faced females do). They say they don’t have stingers.
