I have a Dahua NVR. Is it possible to hear audio (from Dahua cameras that have audio) from the NVR. Of course, the documentation is not there because this camera is not marketed for the end user market like me. I can live with that. So...looking at the back of my NVR, I see two RCA jacks labeled "Mic In" and "Mic Out". Is "Mic Out" Chinglish for "Hey Dude, connect a speaker to dis output, like dude, and hear audio".

If you have a camera with a MIC or with a MIC input on the camera, the audio will come through the network cable just like the video. You will then hear that audio from the MIC while viewing the video stream on your NVR

I temporarily jumpered an 8 ohm speaker to the "MIC Out" rca output on the back of the NVR, but I didn't get any audio. I'm wondering if I need to connect an amplified speaker to it as you do on a pc. I can, however, hear the audio on my pc speakers when connected to it via the cameras GUI.
