I’m definitely not a network guy. Anyone able to assist walking through the initial setup of Dahua cameras and NVR. Can’t get DMSS or easy viewer to work to view cameras remotely. I have no idea what IP address, gateway, etc should/need be set at.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciative. I’m in the US if that matters/helps.

thanks

What model is your NVR?

If it has a built in PoE switch, start here:
***PSA for those with a New DAHUA NVR with Built-in PoE switch

After you have the NVR and cameras setup right THEN work on DMSS and remote viewing:

Remote viewing on DMSS
IP address with be the same as your NVR
Port=37777
Setup as wired camera and use IP/Domain and you wont need to give it a gateway

Thanks I have the NVR4108HS-8P-4KS2 and 2 each of IPC-T5442TM-AS 3.6MM and IPC-HDW5231R-ZE cameras. Each camera showing TCP port 37777 But camera IP addresses are different than NVR IP and it won’t let me change cameras IP address

You need to read the link I posted.

The NVR will assign 10.1.1.x addresses to cameras plugged into its poE ports. Thats correct. You can't change them and dont need to.

To view the cameras on DMSS you enter the address of the NVR which is probably 192.168.1.108

Yeah I was reading your link and now I’m trying to figure out why I can’t connect to 192.168.1.108 from my laptop that is on WiFi. All proxies and firewalls are off.

How are you connected in the images above? Is that the machine interface via a monitor and keyboard directly connected to the NVR?

The 2nd image clearly shows the NVR is already at 192.168.1.108 and you are connected to it...

I can’t get this step

Open a browser on a PC on your network (again assuming a standard home network of 192.168.1.x) and type 192.168.1.108 and hit Enter. You will go to the WebGUI interface of your NVR. This is how you will manage your NVR from now on.

Is your Wifi you are connected to on your laptop off of the same router as the NVR is plugged into?

Must be some setting on your laptop not allowing you to connect. Do you get an error page or anything?

I’ve tried two laptops, and my iPhone And nothing also tried DMSS and nothing

Theres your problem. Not the same network as your NVR. Maybe just change NVR to 192.168.0.108 , Now the NVR will be on the same subnet as the rest of the devices on your network.
