My wife want to get a PetCube camera to watch our cats, be able to talk to them and hear them, and also play with them via the built in laser. However, I already have a Blue Iris setup with 9 cameras and don't think the PetCube would work with BI. It appears to be a mobile app only configuration that you can't even access via a PC or the Web.
No idea about the cam..and I know this is for a cat, but lasers are a bad thing for dogs imho. It makes them chase at any refracted light.
I had a dog and it almost ruined him. Fun at the time, but I felt guilty for afterwards as he sat there looking for the dot. Cats and ymmv...but worth a google incase.
fwiw, I set up puppy cam for my dog - could talk to him too...was using a little Axis brand cam - worked well...but something to be said for an all in one appliance like this if it's wifey friendly
