I set my cameras up a year ago but never had time to tweak any settings. That said, whenever I paused video clips the facial images were never very crisp or detailed. Last night I changed my front driveway cameras from auto to 1/250 shutter speed and anytime I pause video clips the images are fairly crisp and detailed which is obviously what we want!!!

I noticed a slight darkening of the image but it was very minimal with the 5231R-ZE which has so much IR it still washes out faces just a bit. Is there anyway to dial this back for additional facial detail?

I tried 1/500 to see if there were any additional gains but replaying the video through Blue Iris resulted in some choppiness. Perhaps it would be different if I downloaded the video directly for replay or is 1/500 unnecessary?

1/250 is great! I run 1/120 and am ok on my 3 primary cameras at night as I have a lot of light. @mech I believe runs 1/250 on some and gets fantastic results.
