Amcrest IP5M-T1179EW-28MM vs Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-ZE
I have both of these cameras. I couldn't pass up the Amazon deal for the Amcrest at $55 vs. $170 for the Dahua so I pulled the trigger on it. Overall, I have been pleased with it for my needs but the field of view seems to be seriously lacking. The Dahua and the Amcrest are located on either side of my garage looking out over the driveway and the Dahua has a much larger field of view. Do I have something wrong in the settings of the Amcrest? I have double checked and can't seem to find anything to zoom out or widen the field of view. The camera specs are similar so I'm surprised it looks this different.
Amcrest: 2.8mm lens, 103° viewing angle
Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-ZE: 2.7mm lens, angle of view H: 101°~31°, V:54°~17°
See attached images showing the field of views. I think this is pretty substantial. Am I missing something or did I do something wrong when setting up this camera?
Thanks!
