Amcrest Firmware Upgrade - Is Restoring to Factory Settings Really Necessary?

Amcrest's firmware page indicates that you should restore the device to factory settings after an upgrade.

Any ideas why this is required? And is it really necessary?
 
In many cases restoring the device back to factory will allow users to basically start the camera back over from new. The factory reset will also erase anything negative that could have caused any features from failing while restoring those features to new. It is also an important troubleshooting measure just before an RMA.
