Alerts: Push notifications vs SMS

I personally don't like the triggered alerts via "Push Notification" vs getting a text message. With the push notification you can get an image but it's too small and if you click on it, it just sends you to the app. Am i missing something? The sms text message is way better cause you can actually see and zoom in on the image. Am I the only one?

Anyone know if you can send a gif via the sms?

Ok figured out images aren't sent in a test via push. An actual alert will send an image as long as it's not through a manual test. This would make push's more desirable. Still curious if a gif can be sent via text?

Look at the rich notifications. When the push alerts your iPhone, 3D Touch the alert and you will get multiple frames of motion displayed.
