So I am looking at getting one of the IPC-B52IR-Z12E-S2 cameras to cover a chicken coop that is about 100 feet from the installation spot on my house. However I don't need or want the audio or alarms components. So my dumb question since I am new to this is can those connections just be left unconnected, just using the POE connection without any issue? If not is there a comparable camera that offers the same specs as that without the audio or alarm that only utilizes a POE connection?

You don't need to use those connections - most of us only use the POE connection only. Many will tape over them. Some have simply cut them off.
Most bullet cameras have those options whereas the turrets do not, but a turret does not have the optical zoom of the Z12E

Yeah I would like to have a turret camera but with the distance there wasn't any within my price range that could cover the coop area. Thanks for the info.
